I am writing to alert folks who may live in NY that NY recently changed the laws governing cpa licensure. It is no longer necessary to have auditing experience to become a cpa in NY. This is great news for folks like me who have never worked in public accounting. The law went into effect in late July

I also wanted to let folks know that I have some great “home-made” flashcards that I am always willing to share for the CPA exam. I used the Wiley books, studied at home, and made my own flashcards. I have them in pdf format. Some are one-sided and some are two-sided. I used these to drill home important stuff in the parking lot right before I entered the test. It worked like a charm for me every time.

If you are interested in the cards, get me your email address.

This new law in NY just happened to get passed right after I took my last exam (and passed!) So lucky for me... I have four years experience in tax and almost none in audit. Yay for NY!
